I am fashion crazy; I love everything about the industry and the clothes. I literally live for fashion, (no exaggeration; my money always seems to go on clothes, shoes, handbags or accessories....!!). I admire individuality and the fearless; I adore to people watch and see admire other peoples styles and I gain lots of inspiration from that. I see fashion as an art form; a way to express yourself and be creative. To me, clothes are not something you just wear - they are part of you and your personality. It's important to cultivate your own style, something that lets the world know that this is how you are! Fashion is for everyone, we can all develop our own signature style and I hope The Chic Guide will help you and others to be more creative and bold!
Remember - Fashion should always be fun, no matter what age, size or shape you are; so be adventurous, try something that you never would or thought you would or could wear, be yourself and most importantly be FABULOUS and CHIC!

Happy Birthday Bettie Page!

Bettie Page is one of my favourite pin-ups for many reasons; she was fearless, provocative and most of all she had style! Her look has inspired millions of fans around the globe, including me! But it was her trademark 'bangs' that have become so iconic and synonymous with Bettie. Many celebrity and pin-ups such as Bernie Dexter, Dita Von Teese, The Cherry Dollfacevintage and rockabilly lovers can be seen wearing 'bettie bangs'. In homage to this wonderful icons birthday, why not cut some 'Bettie bangs' today?! For any of you that want to get that Bettie look but are not sure how to cut your own hair, there are many excellent videos on youtube of how to cut 'Bettie Bangs'.  Here is my favourite tutorial from Pin-up Lovely 87 it's a really easy step-by-step guide of how to cut your bangs. There are literally loads of other 'Bettie bangs' tutorials on youtube if you click on this link: 'bettie bangs' you'll find loads more but I found the Pin-up Lovely 87 tutorial one of the best, it's of my personal favourites! So give some 'Betty bangs'  in honour of her birthday or if don't fancy that then just enjoy some of my favourite iconic Bettie shots! Happy 89th Birthday Bettie, you're a true icon! <3

For those of you that really love a true authentic vintage look then Jitterbuggin is the place for you; it's a really lovely small clothing company hailing from Portland, Oregon in the United States. There all about true authentic vintage inspired preproduction clothing and their designs are really impressive; the high quality fabrics and cut and the historical accuracy is second to none! This is what they pride themselves on and you will see from any of the styles, they really do live up to it. All garments are handmade and they also offer one of kind pieces as well, which is also excellent as it so nice to be able to purchase something that no one else will have as that's so rear nowadays as everything is normally produced on such a mass scale. You really feel like you're getting a true vintage experience when you shop at Jitterbuggin! I really love their designs; they're simple, chic and very true to the war eras.
