So now that you've got your shades sorted you'll need the perfect poolside attire; the second summer essential of course has got to be swimwear! Whether you're a swimsuit or bikini kind of girl, there are so many wonderful vintage inspired pieces available, you'll be spoilt for choice! I love vintage inspired swimwear as the design is so much more flattering on any shape from skinny to curvy. It is very few of people that can wear a tiny bikini and a) feel completely comfortable or b) look really good! So don't fear if your getting worried about being poolside, vintage or vintage inspired is the way to go! If you want something that will flatter your figure while keeping your bum and tum covered and supported without having to resort to one of those granny style swimsuits found in most department stores! So now the only question is where to buy, well there are many excellent store on-line that sell vintage inspired swimwear and here are some of my favourites.
Pin-up Girl Clothing have a wonderful range of vintage inspired bathing suits which come in an array of sizes, colours, patterns and designs to suit all shapes. Unique Vintage is another brilliant store for vintage inspired swimwear, they stock an excellent range of different designs and sizes. My current favourite is this super cute cherry print suit from Lolita Girl Clothing modelled by the beautiful Bernie Dexter. This type of swimsuit looks great on everyone whatever your shape or size. I love how Bernie has style this look. Don't be afraid to accessorise your swimwear, you can just take it off it you plan on having a dip! Wearing heels is another good trick to elongate the legs. Black swimsuits are also really slimming if you don't fancy wearing a print. So there really is something for everyone out there!
Mod Cloth are known wonderful vintage inspired pieces and their swimwear range is not to be missed. I really loved this plaid two piece, it instantly caught my eye and it looks wonderful on. The halter neck is so flattering and the bottoms are perfect for any size, hiding any problem areas. Don't be afraid to wear unusual prints, have fun and experiment with different shapes to find the best one that suits your shape. Most importantly wear something you feel comfortable in and then you will instantly feel more confident. If you don't feel confident reveal your lower half then simply wear a sarong around your waist to match your bathing suit and you'll still look just as fabulous! You could even get a matching turban for your hair or matching flowers or accessories-there are no rules!
