I am fashion crazy; I love everything about the industry and the clothes. I literally live for fashion, (no exaggeration; my money always seems to go on clothes, shoes, handbags or accessories....!!). I admire individuality and the fearless; I adore to people watch and see admire other peoples styles and I gain lots of inspiration from that. I see fashion as an art form; a way to express yourself and be creative. To me, clothes are not something you just wear - they are part of you and your personality. It's important to cultivate your own style, something that lets the world know that this is how you are! Fashion is for everyone, we can all develop our own signature style and I hope The Chic Guide will help you and others to be more creative and bold!
Remember - Fashion should always be fun, no matter what age, size or shape you are; so be adventurous, try something that you never would or thought you would or could wear, be yourself and most importantly be FABULOUS and CHIC!

It is not easy to describe a women with such individualistic and often eccentric style or define the raw beauty of such a truly iconic figure. Described by Tom Ford as " one of the most - if not the - most stylish women living", this is by no means an exaggeration. While her face may not be overly well known to many, she has however been a prominent figure in the fashion world for over the past decade.
In recent years, Daphne received massive media attention when she purchased the entire wardrobe of the late Isabella Blow, the renowned British magazine editor, fashion icon and Philip Tracey muse, who was similarly known for her eccentric and eclectic style. Daphne a personal friend of Isabella, stated she felt it was important for her to purchase her late friends wardrobe as she wanted to "allow people...to benefit from her legacy , when we who knew and love Issie are no longer here" Daphne is also famously a collector of Haute Couture for many, many years, some of which is currently being exhibited by Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, showing some of her most coveted Haute Couture pieces that Guinness has worn, all of which are displayed in mannequins emulating Guinness' silhouette and iconic hair style. With designers such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior, Givenchy. Valentino being featured it is one not to be missed. You can check out her full interview with the New Yorker on the art of looking interesting and about the exhibition at : The New Yorker Or for more information check out: FIT New York

Yes Autumn is slowly beginning to creep in, the days are getting shorter and there is a definite chill in the air, which I have to say makes me a little depressed as we didn't have a great summer to begin with! However, it's not all doom and gloom, there is one major consolation, new season, means a new wardrobe! one item that is definitely on my wishlist is for this season is a faux fur coat and Topshop have a goregous range in store and online. 40's Glamour was major theme everywhere on the catwalk this Autumn/Winter, with Gucci, Prada, Jean Paul Gaultier and Donna Karan collections all pay homage to the hollywood golden age anda good faux fur coat is central to creating a chic 40's look. It's well worth having a browse through the designers collections for inspiration for the coming season, I know I will! For a full on 40's look wear with any of the following: pearls, leather gloves, pencil skirts, stiletto heels, waist belts, fitted dress topped off with your favourite red or plum lipstick to complete the 40's look. However of you don't fancy a full on vintage look, you can always just use some simple accessories, like a vintage scarf or brooch to add a more vintage feel without being to dressy. Here are some of my favourite faux fur coats from Topshop's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection, it's an investment piece and a must have for this season.
